Scope of Activities

EBI’s task is to develop specialized training courses, new learning and teaching approaches, and to participate in international projects to acquire new knowledge and skills, and to share the research findings and experiences gained during the offered courses, research work, and active participation in teaching with others (in Europe).

Courses, Training & Research

The association deals with adult education and the training of teachers/trainers in adult education (AE). Furthermore, the association engages in research with a focus on teaching methods (E-Learning, Blended Learning, and technology-supported teaching and training). EBI offers IST training courses in e-learning, technology-supported learning, blended learning, multimedia presentations, project management, and content management systems. In the last ten years, approximately 700 learners have participated in the courses, several books have been published, and EBI researchers have contributed to international conferences (in the fields of innovation, technology-supported teaching, and training).

Projects

The association participated in several LLP collaborations like Grundtvig learning partnerships and a Multilateral Grundtvig Project (539717-LLP-1-2013-1-IT-GRUNDTVIG-GMP) as a specialist in blended learning and multimedia content.
EBI was the coordinator of the Erasmus+ projects “Flipped Adult Education” (2018-1-AT01-KA204-039224) and “InterMedia” (2020-1-AT01-KA204-078005).

Network

The association is well-connected in Europe – both with similar institutions and with Adult Education providers (and their umbrella organizations) and universities. In Austria, there are intensive contacts with technical and pedagogical universities, as well as other similar institutions.
